Next up...Mariah!

After last week's sewing blitz, I was feeling a bit like getting back to other crafts. I was cleaning up in the art lab last night, and I found a few works-in-progress hiding in the drawer.

* Thermal
I hadn't touched this since December. I took it out of the bag, knit one row on it, and stuffed it back. I'm just not feeling the love for the tiny needles right now, though I know that I'm going to like this when it's done.

* A design of my own for a jacket, knit with a couple of plies of White Buffalo Unspun. I have the back and one sleeve finished. So far I like how it's turning out, but the stuff hurts my hands some to knit and I just don't feel like working on it.

* An acrylic shruggy thing- this only needed a bit of finishing. I finished it, and I don't like it at all. Remind me what I was thinking when I decided to knit a shrug with acrylic, anyhow? Probably will donate this to the thrift store.

* A wool-ease baby sweater, inspired by Trellis. This one also got some needed finishing and landed in the gift trunk.

So, after cleaning up all that, and not feeling like working on either of the projects that were left, of course I started something new. In the stash, I had tons of worsted weight wool, so that seemed like a good place to start.

A couple of days ago, I was talking with Michelle about perfect sweaters, and I mentioned that the one I wear the most is my grey sailor cardigan, which of course I never got a decent finished shot of to show you. Well, why not make something like the sweater I wear the most? Makes sense, eh?
Enter Mariah. She's cute, cable-y, and has a zipper. I like zippers. Now, I only have five skeins of Cascade 220 when the pattern suggests I need 8, so we'll see what happens. Mine might end up being a hoodless, 3/4 sleeve version, but that's okay. I always end up with my sleeves rolled up anyhow.

What's your favorite sweater?

I hope I like the one I'm knitting.

Mariah is cute!

And - I have no idea why you were knitting an acyrlic shrug. I'm more gobsmacked by shrugs than muppet fur though.

My favorite is a mind-numbing plain silk/cashmere v-neck pullover, knit on size 1s. It goes with everything and feels soooo good. I wouldn't knit it again for anything.

The funnest to knit was an original design intarsia cable in pink, white, blue and purple.

Mariah is gorgeous, but let me warn you now, the neckline is wonky. You may want to modify that.
